What does the mineral filter do?
The mineral filter specifically enriches the filtered water with the essential minerals magnesium, calcium, sodium, and potassium. With a capacity of 1,500 liters, it is based on the CF filter and can easily replace the MN filter. In addition, it effectively regulates the pH value from 6–6.5 to a balanced level of 7–7.5, which noticeably improves water quality. Ideal for users who value mineralized and balanced drinking water.

Kundenrezensionen
I am thrilled and will absolutely purchase another system from HO3 again, should it ever be necessary. Customer service helped me immediately.
The HO3 system is what we've always wanted. We haven't bought bottled water since. The water quality is excellent, and the taste is perfect for us.
Installation was a breeze, and operation is intuitive, so even my children can easily dispense water. The design is chic and modern, fitting perfectly into our kitchen.

MicroShield Membrane
The MicroShield membrane retains even the smallest particles and enables filtration results at aerospace level. The membrane surpasses conventional filter technologies and ensures unprecedented clarity and purity of the water.
Ideal for anyone who doesn't want to compromise on the quality of their drinking water.
Premium Taste
The TasteBoost post-filter is the final stage in the Home One's three-step purification process, elevating the taste of your water to a new level. Specially developed activated carbon refines the aroma by binding taste-impairing substances.
A must-have for anyone who values the finest taste in their water.
Save with every litre
The Home One provides you with premium water at an extremely affordable price. In addition, it prevents the water from being exposed to the plastic of PET bottles for weeks.

How does the wastewater and the tank work?
Why is there a "wastewater area" in the outer tank and why is it not separated all the way to the top?
Every reverse osmosis process produces two water streams: filtered water and a more concentrated residual water (wastewater). This residual water contains the substances that are retained from the raw water during filtration. To prevent these substances from permanently remaining in the system or the cartridges themselves, they must be flushed out with the wastewater and returned to the outer tank.
In our system, a portion of the residual water is intentionally reused to significantly reduce water waste. That is why the partition wall in the outer tank does not extend to the top. This allows the system to operate with higher efficiency by refiltering parts of the residual water, achieving a pure-to-wastewater ratio of approximately 2.3:1 (approx. 3.5 L filtered water to approx. 1.5 L wastewater). Many other devices typically have a ratio of about 1:1.
What technically happens in the tank?
The system essentially treats the water in the outer tank as raw water during filtration. During the process, the concentration of filtered-out substances in the remaining residual water increases because
- the substances "remain" in the tank or enter the residual water area, and
- the water volume in the outer tank simultaneously decreases.
When this concentration reaches a point where further filtering would be inefficient, the remaining residue (typically about 1.5 L) is discarded as wastewater. This keeps the performance and lifespan of the filters stable.
Does this mix with the "good" water?
There is an intentional mixing in the outer tank because the partition wall does not extend all the way to the top. This is not critical because
- this water in the outer tank is never directly dispensed as drinking water but always runs through the filter stages again, and
- the system is designed to work reliably even with fluctuating input values in the tank.
Why is this not a problem for the filters?
The filter stages are specifically designed for this operating principle. Controlled handling of more concentrated residual water is normal and important in osmosis systems to prevent the filters from clogging unnecessarily quickly and to maintain constant filter performance.
Advantage for you
You get a clean result with significantly less water waste. In short: less wastewater, stable filter performance, and in the end, everything that is dispensed is fully filtered anyway.
What is the difference between MN and mineral filters?
Both post-filters mainly alter the taste – but in different ways. The green MN filter is another activated carbon filter and is made of coconut fibers. It changes the taste in a rather "neutral" way. The blue mineral filter enriches the water with minerals (including calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium), which often makes the water taste "rounder."
Overview of values in mg per liter with the mineral filter:
- Calcium: approx. 21.8
- Magnesium: approx. 2.1
- Sodium: approx. 0.8
- Potassium: approx. 1.8
The released quantities are below those of classic mineral waters but are based on a natural, mild mineral profile. This makes the filter particularly suitable for daily use, ideal for anyone who wants to drink pure yet balanced mineralized water.
The mineral filter increases the pH value of the filtered water to a level of 7 – 7.5.
What is the Home One and how does it work?
The HO3 Home One is a water treatment system that removes impurities from water through reverse osmosis. It does not require a fixed water connection and can be used flexibly.
How is the device filled with water?
The unit has a 5L raw water tank. The tank can be easily removed for filling. The raw water tank has a separate compartment for dirty water.
What is the clean water to wastewater ratio?
The pure-to-drain water ratio for the Home One is 2.3:1. This means that from 5 liters of raw water, you get 3.5 liters of filtered water and 1.5 liters of wastewater.
How long does it take to filter water?
The device has a 1.5-liter internal tank where filtered water is stored. As soon as water is drawn, the device automatically starts the filtering process, ensuring that 1.5 liters are always available.
The device takes approximately 4–4.5 minutes to filter 1.5 liters of water.
How often do the filters need to be changed?
This depends on the specific filter, actual usage, and the quality of the tap water. Reference values for 5 liters per day are:
CF and MN filters: 12 months
RO filter: 16 months
Can I use the Home One in my motorhome or on a boat?
Yes, the system is ideal for use in RVs, boats, or other locations without a fixed water connection.
What maintenance is required?
In addition to regular filter changes, occasional cleaning of the device is recommended to ensure optimal performance.
Furthermore, regular descaling of the device is required depending on your water hardness. To do this, enter your postcode online and search for "water hardness" to get an overview of the lime content in your region.
You can find more information about descaling here: HO3 Home One Cleaning Set
The water doesn't get to 95°C. What can I do?
A water boiler reaches an effective temperature of 93°C. The flow heater of the Home One reaches the same temperature. On the way from the flow heater to the glass, the water effectively cools down to ~87°C. A difference is not noticeable.
The device dispenses less water than I specified. What can I do?
This can be easily calibrated on the display. Connect the device to the power supply, press and hold the volume button for 5 seconds during startup, and select an output volume between -20% and +20%. The device is calibrated.
Is there a money-back guarantee and what is the return policy?
HO3 comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. This means you can test your Home One for a month without obligation. If you find within this period that the Home One is not suitable for you, you will receive a full refund of the purchase price upon return of the product.
